Villa Villan returns for European tifo

Aston Villa supporters enjoyed another special pre-match show prior to our UEFA Champions League clash against Fenerbahçe at Villa Park.

Suzuki comes out excellently to close down the space after Fenerbahce get in on the counter. Smothers Muriqi's effort. Tonight is a battle of the passing keepers, but that was brave, impressive goalkeeping. #AVFC

This is a third start for Johan Manzambi at #AVFC and essentially his remit at the start of every match has been different. In many ways, the perfect Emery attacker. Versatile, a ball-carrier and able to exploit different spaces on the pitch. Early days but a remarkable addition.

GOAL: MANZAAAMBI! On his birthday, the Swiss opens the scoring at Villa Park after Fenerbahce failed to deal with a corner. #AVFC 1-0 Fenerbahce

Johan Manzambi celebrates. Mbaye goes short to McGinn from a corner. The ball falls to Manzambi who shoots from around 12 yards out. Shot is on target but takes a huge deflection off Skriniar. 1-0 #AVFC and a very good start

Typically, Emery wants his central 10 in the inside right channel, with the left winger (usually a left 10) in the other. Because Mbaye is playing as a left winger, unusual in an Emery system, Manzambi is playing close to him. #AVFC
