#AVFC aggressive in how high the backline is squeezing up. Chris Wood would obviously prefer the ball to feet and Forest are without a left winger, so only one player has the potential to run in behind. Means they are winning the ball back higher up and in better areas

HT: Villa 1-0 Forest (1-1 on aggregate) A reminder of Villa's strengths, especially when they play with energy, pace and purpose. #AVFC have been positive in everything they do (pressing and passing) and controlled emotions well, while also using them

HT: Villa are ahead on the night and level with Forest on aggregate. Watkins with the finish in front of the Holte End after some trickery from Buendia to beat Anderson. Some outstanding performances in that first half. Atmosphere top. #AVFC 1-0 Nottingham Forest (1-1 AGG)

After Martinez ran to the subs to celebrate, McGinn grabbed Cash and started gesturing instructions. This is the Villa you want to see - McGinn running the show, Buendia/Rogers/Watkins all so positive. Brilliant so far. #AVFC

GOAL: OLLLIEEEE WATKINSSSSSS! Magic from Emi Buendia, who then slides the ball across the face. Villa level on aggregate. #AVFC 1-0 Nottingham Forest (1-1 AGG)

Buendia and Rogers are buzzing about and doing well in isolating Forest's midfield pivot and driving centrally. It helps when team-mates behind are looking to fizz the ball into them but both are combining well with Watkins and Tielemans. #AVFC doing a lot of things well
