HT: Villa are level with Brentford at the break. Jackson equalised two minutes after Yarmolyuk's opener. A stop-start first half, with Brentford committing 12 fouls. Kelleher made a great save to deny McGinn with nearly the last kick before half-time. #AVFC 1-1 Brentford

Jacob Tanswell

HT: #AVFC 1-1 Brentford McGinn should score just before HT. A rough and ready affair. Lots of fouls (most from Brentford). Nature of game means huge physicality required - transitions, tension, both putting a lot of players in the box from crosses.

Jacob Tanswell

Feels like a game that Brentford prefer and play more. Emery would rather have a slower, more controlled match with fewer turnovers, though the best chances are coming on transition. #AVFC

GOAL: JACKSSON! Villa's striker equalises just moments after Yehor Yarmolyuk's opener. #AVFC 1-1 Brentford

Jacob Tanswell

Really important #AVFC hit back straight away as Brentford can revert to sitting in a compact block when with something to protect - see their victory here last year. Really good intensity to the game

John Townley

GOAL: Yehor Yarmolyuk opens the scoring for Brentford. Tyrone Mings gives the ball away under pressure, and Villa fail to deal with the resulting cross. The ball falls to Yarmolyuk to score. #AVFC 0-1 Brentford
