A shame Saka goal came as Arsenal had not not quite at it & Villa Park sensed it. Having worked so well in the first half to stop Arsenal's full-back's underlaps, Calafiori gets in and sets up Saka. First shot on target in the game. #AVFC

HT: Solid first half from Villa, who have come closest to scoring, with Buendia rattling the crossbar. Suzuki’s distribution has been excellent, while Cash has been outstanding at right-back. Tzolis perhaps fortunate not to have picked up a second yellow. #AVFC 0-0 Arsenal

HT: #AVFC 0-0 Arsenal First half was comforting in a way - considering the amount of uncertainty and change this summer, this was a rather steady, if meandering, first half.

#AVFC managing to progress the ball well upfield and through their full-backs. A lot of this has to do with Zion Suzuki being extremely confident in shifting the ball to either foot and spraying diagonal passes to either full-back. Villa implementing game-plan decently.
